Size Recommendations (Gift Reference Only)
These estimates may help when ordering as a gift, but they are not always accurate.
• Extra Small — 5'8" or under 150 lbs
• Small — under 5'10" or under 200 lbs
• Medium — under 6'3" or under 260 lbs
• Large — over 6'3" or over 325 lbs
How to Measure
-
Take a piece of rope, webbing, or string.
-
Place it over your shoulder like a radio strap.
-
Bring both ends together at the hip where the radio case will sit.
-
Measure the total length in inches.
-
Select the closest size from the sizing chart.
For best results, stand straight while measuring.
Safety Notice
⚠️ We do not recommend wearing your radio strap over your turnout coat.
Wearing a radio strap outside your coat creates an entanglement hazard and exposes your equipment to unnecessary damage.
For proper use:
• Wear your radio strap under your turnout coat
• Allow the radio to hang over your bunker pants
• Position the strap so the coat sheds water away from the radio
• Route the collar mic through the neck opening of your coat
This protects both your strap and your communication equipment.
Post-Fire Decontamination
All Fully Involved Leatherworks products are sealed to help prevent the absorption of contaminants and particulates.
If your equipment enters the IDLH, we recommend the following cleaning procedure:
-
Rinse with copious amounts of water to remove large particulates
-
Use a soft bristle brush if needed
-
For deeper cleaning use a mild detergent such as:
• Dawn
• Joy
• Car wash soap
-
Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry out of direct sunlight
Do not place leather equipment in an extractor or dryer.
These recommendations are based on UL research regarding firefighter PPE contamination and decontamination procedures.
