Materials & Construction

Leather: 9–10 oz American Zebu full grain leather
Width: 1½ inches
Finish: Hand dyed using professional oil dye
Edge Finish: Stitched edges for durability
Hardware: Heavy duty scissor buckles and professional grade hardware

Our leather is thick enough to withstand the demands of the fire service while remaining supple enough for everyday comfort.

Each piece is:

• Hand cut in our shop
• Individually dyed by hand
• Sealed to prevent bleeding onto uniforms
• Built to withstand years of use

Customization Notes:

Text added to anti-sway straps will be stamped into the leather only. Anti-sway straps do not include a text color option.

Images added to radio cases will also be stamped into the leather only. These stamped designs do not include a color option.

Customization colors are applied using some of the highest-quality paint in the industry. Even so, emergency service use, daily wear, exposure, abuse, and general fireground conditions will eventually cause painted customization to crack, peel, or wear over time.

We do offer a repaint service for $15. After contacting us and receiving an RMA, you can ship your strap back to us and we will repaint it and ship it back to you. Return shipping is included in this service.

For the longest-lasting result, we recommend selecting a text color that matches the strap and using contrasting colors only for the text outline.

Stamped customization provides the most durable and longest-lasting finish.

Sizing (Select Closest Size)

Measurement is taken from the bottom of the strap excluding the radio case.

Available sizes:

56"
59"
62"
65"
68"
71"
74"
77"

⚠️ Please measure yourself before ordering. Our sizes differ from other companies.

Unfortunately we cannot estimate sizes if ordering as a gift.

Repairs cannot be made for incorrect sizing.

How to Measure

  1. Take a piece of rope, webbing, or string.

  2. Place it over your shoulder where you would normally wear your radio strap.

  3. Bring both ends together at your hip where the radio case will sit.

  4. Measure the total length in inches.

  5. Select the closest size from the sizing chart.

For best results, stand straight while taking measurements.

Fireground Safety Recommendation

We do not recommend wearing your radio strap over your turnout coat.

Wearing it over your coat can:

• Create an entanglement hazard
• Increase wear on the strap
• Damage your radio

For proper use:

Wear the strap under your turnout coat with the radio hanging over bunker pants. Your coat will shed water away from the radio while still allowing access to controls.

Run the collar mic through the neck of the coat for easy communication access.

Post-Fire Decontamination

All Fully Involved Leatherworks products are sealed to help prevent the absorption of contaminants and particulates.

If your gear enters the IDLH, we recommend the following cleaning procedure:

  1. Rinse with copious amounts of water to remove large particulates

  2. Use a soft bristle brush if needed

  3. For deeper cleaning use a mild detergent such as:

• Dawn
• Joy
• Car wash soap

  1. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry out of direct sunlight

Do not place leather equipment in an extractor or dryer.

These recommendations are based on UL research regarding firefighter PPE contamination and decontamination procedures.

Warranty

All Fully Involved Leatherworks gear is backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty and built to ride with you for years — if not your entire career.

Built by Firefighters

Fully Involved Leatherworks is Firefighter Owned and Operated. Every product we build is tested in real-world conditions before it ever goes into production.

Our mission is simple:
